Thailand does not offer visa-free entry or visa on arrival to Moroccan passport holders, so you must apply at the Royal Thai Embassy in Rabat before your trip. Thailand is one of Southeast Asia most popular destinations, known for its Buddhist temples, tropical beaches, vibrant street food scene, and warm hospitality. The visa process is well-established and relatively straightforward for tourism purposes.

There are no direct flights between Casablanca (CMN) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK). Common one-stop connections include: via Dubai (DXB) with Emirates to Bangkok BKK, via Doha (DOH) with Qatar Airways to Bangkok BKK, and via Abu Dhabi (AUH) with Etihad Airways to Bangkok BKK. Total travel time is approximately 14 to 18 hours. Bangkok is also served by Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), primarily used by low-cost carriers for domestic and regional flights. From Suvarnabhumi, the Airport Rail Link connects to central Bangkok in about 30 minutes.

Thailand uses the Thai baht (THB). Thailand offers a good mix of cash and card acceptance. Major hotels, shopping malls, and upscale restaurants in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and resort areas accept Visa and Mastercard widely. However, street food vendors, local markets, tuk-tuks, and smaller guesthouses typically require cash. ATMs are abundant throughout the country but charge a foreign transaction fee of around THB 220 per withdrawal. Thailand is very affordable compared to Western destinations: budget travelers can get by on THB 1,000 to 1,500 per day, while comfortable mid-range travel covering a decent hotel, restaurant meals, and activities costs approximately THB 1,500 to 3,000 ($42 to $85 USD) per day.

Bangkok is the main entry point with iconic sights including the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Arun, the Chao Phraya River, the Chatuchak Weekend Market, and the lively nightlife of Khao San Road and Sukhumvit. Chiang Mai in northern Thailand offers a calmer atmosphere, ancient temples (Doi Suthep), elephant sanctuaries, and cooking classes. Phuket and Koh Samui are the most famous beach destinations with clear waters, while Krabi and the Koh Lanta area are popular for rock climbing and snorkeling. Ayutthaya, the ancient capital located 80 km from Bangkok, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site well worth a day trip. Always dress modestly when visiting temples (covered shoulders and knees required). Thailand experiences distinct seasons: November to February is the cool dry season and the best time to visit.
