How We Verify Visa Information

Visa requirements change frequently and errors have real consequences for travellers. Here is exactly how we research, verify, and keep our information current.

Our Research Process

1

Primary sources only

Every visa requirement on VisasIn is sourced from official government publications: embassy websites, ministry of foreign affairs portals, and official visa application centres such as VFS Global or TLScontact. We do not rely on third-party aggregators or travel blogs as primary data.

2

Country-specialist reviewers

For complex routes or high-traffic corridors, we assign a specialist researcher who monitors that specific passport combination. Our reviewers have direct experience with the routes they cover, including personal experience navigating visa applications in the countries they specialise in.

3

Regular update cycles

All visa data is reviewed on a rolling basis. Priority routes are checked monthly; all other routes are reviewed at least every six months. When an official source announces a change (fee increase, new document requirement, suspension of services), we update the relevant pages within 48 hours.

4

Last verified date

Every visa requirements page shows the date the information was last confirmed against official sources. If you see a date that is more than six months old on a high-traffic route, please use the feedback link on that page so we can prioritise a review.

What We Verify

Visa type and requirement Whether a visa is required, available on arrival, as an eVisa, or not required at all
Official fees Fees in the currency charged by the embassy or visa centre, not just USD conversions
Required documents Including any documents specific to the passport nationality, not just the generic Schengen or standard list
Processing times Standard and urgent processing windows as published by the issuing authority
Service status Whether applications are currently being accepted, suspended, or subject to restrictions
Entry conditions Passport validity requirements, proof of funds thresholds, insurance requirements
