Guam to Iceland: What You Need to Know

How to Get There

From Guam (GUM) to Reykjavik (KEF) via Seattle (SEA) and Keflavik on Icelandair, or via Tokyo (NRT) and London (LHR) on British Airways and Icelandair. Icelandair serves Keflavik direct from many North American cities. Total journey is approximately 24 to 30 hours from Guam.

Iceland uses the Icelandic Krona (ISK). Cards are almost universally accepted. Budget 150 to 220 EUR equivalent per day. Iceland is one of the most expensive Schengen destinations. ATMs are available but rarely needed.

Practical Tips

Travel on your US passport. Keflavik International Airport (KEF) connects to major US and European cities. Iceland is best June to August for midnight sun or November to February for northern lights. A rental car is essential for the Ring Road. Iceland is very expensive.
