Eswatini to Slovenia: What You Need to Know
Slovenia is a Schengen and EU member. Eswatini citizens require a C-category short-stay Schengen visa. Slovenia's limited consular network in Africa means applications may be processed through a partner embassy. Slovenia is a small Alpine country with excellent natural scenery including Lake Bled and Triglav National Park.
How to Get There
Route via Johannesburg (JNB) to Ljubljana (LJU) via Vienna (VIE) or Frankfurt (FRA). Alternatively fly into Vienna and travel overland to Slovenia. No direct connections from southern Africa.
Money & Banking
Slovenia uses the Euro (EUR). Cards are accepted at most establishments. Budget 70 to 110 EUR per day. ATMs are available in Ljubljana and tourist areas. Slovenia is moderately priced for a Schengen country.
Practical Tips
Ljubljana Airport (LJU) is the main airport though it has limited international connections. Most travelers fly into Vienna (VIE) or Zagreb (ZAG) and take a bus or train to Ljubljana (2 to 3 hours). Lake Bled and Piran are popular day trips from Ljubljana. Visit from June to September for best weather.
