How to Get There
No direct flights connect Afghan airports to Belgium. Route via Dubai (DXB) with Brussels Airlines direct to Brussels (BRU), or via Istanbul (IST) with Turkish Airlines then Brussels Airlines or another carrier. From Islamabad, connect through Gulf hubs. Brussels Airport has excellent rail connections to the city centre (17 minutes). Belgium is small and well-connected to France, Netherlands, Germany, and Luxembourg by high-speed rail. Total journey time from Kabul is typically 10 to 16 hours.

Belgium uses the euro (EUR). Visa and Mastercard are accepted everywhere. Belgium is moderately priced: Brussels accommodation from €45 per night in budget options, meals from €10 to €20. Belgian chocolate, waffles, and beer are world-famous and affordable treats. ATMs are widely available. Belgium has no tipping expectation, but rounding up is appreciated. Bruges and Ghent are affordable for accommodation and food compared to Brussels.
